The village of Kevadia in Gujarat has become the country’s first “electric car” town, a key step toward a pollution-free India.
As a result, the area surrounding the Statue of Unity has been designated as India’s first “e-vehicle zone.” Gujarat’s Kevadia region will be recognized not just for the 182-meter-tall monument of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel known as the “Statue of Unity,” but also as the country’s first city with entirely electric cars on the road.
This effort will hasten India’s transition to a green and clean India. The most essential feature is that the e-rickshaws are managed by local tribal women, which is a big step toward women’s empowerment. Kevadia, Gujarat, is home to the world’s tallest statue.
